Let’s Sort Our Shit

METHANE RECOVERY

THE ISSUE
Although it accounts for approximately 10% of greenhouse gas emissions, methane is 34 times more potent than carbon dioxide as a heat-trapping gas, making it a powerful contributor to climate change. It is produced from the production of fossil fuels, agricultural activities, treatment of wastewater, and the decomposition of organic waste.

Landfills were reported by the Environmental Protection Agency to be the third largest source of methane in the U.S.

A SOLUTION
To repurpose methane for energy generation. Methane is captured from the landfill and burned to produce electricity, simultaneously reducing emissions and producing biogas, a sustainable form of energy.

WE SUPPORT
The Global Methane Initiative, an international public-private effort focusing on the reduction and recovery of methane.
